Board up hyde park
Hyde Park is a certified historic district. It contains dozens of historic buildings like the one seen here. These are our treasures - yours, mine, the whole community.
In these economic times it is impossible for the government to do everything. There is not enough money in the budget to properly secure all the vacant historic properties in the district.
Working with the permission of Alderman Freeman Bosley Sr. we are attempting to secure some of these historic properties and preserve them until the time that they can be properly restored. We call this effort Board Up Hyde Park and we need your help.
A Board Up is the perfect group project for any size group.
How Can Your Group Help?
* Raise or Donate $300.00 for the materials
to board up one
vacant property.
* Have a painting party! Paint the boards
we deliver to your location or you can
arrange to come to our facility and paint.
Be creative! Paint a picture and a positive
message. We can supply you with a list of
acceptable words and phrases.
* Arrange for us to pick up the painted boards.
* See the before and after photos of your work
on our web site along with the address of the
property you helped preserve.
How can it get any easier or more fun? We do the hard work for you!
* We measure the size and quantity of boards
needed for each property.
* We purchase the wood, cut it to size, label
each board by property and window location,
and supply the paint.
* We deliver the materials and pick up the
painted boards or prepare our facility for your painting party. We even clean up after you.
* We install the finished boards.
* We upload the before and after photos of
your work to our web site along with the
address of the property you helped preserve.
