Sewing Center

The Sewing Center has developed some of our most successful products. Our Coffee Bag Messenger bags were voted one of the top 50 gift ideas in St. Louis by Alive Magazine in 2010. We have over a dozen retailers now carrying these unique one-of-a-kind gifts. No matter where you see them displayed each one is a unique work of art.

This Christmas we introduced the Coffee Bag Christmas Stocking. These are also hand made one-of-a-kind gift items and go perfectly with a bag of your favorite custom roast coffee.

The Goal of the sewing center is to teach skills, provide resources, and help people discover their creativity as they explore making new products. We take in donations of cloth, coffee bags, sewing machines and materials and we use them to train and empower people while we make the products that pay our overhead.

There are some interesting new items scheduled for release in 2011. We will see many new coffee bag related products like smaller purses and messenger bags, wallets, netbook or Ipad covers and maybe even a gig bag for guitars. We also have patchwork products in the work. If our papermaking venture is successful we may even see some very unique journals and sketch pads by mid year.

The opportunities are only limited by the creativity of our volunteers and those we train. If you have an old sewing machine (working or not), or unwanted material or supplies that you would like to donate please contact us. we can arrange to pick up most items in and around the St. Louis area.
